Parchment Painting – Circling Technique
The second card I have to show you from Volume 7, The Techniques is done with the Circling technique. The card was painted with Pinta Perla acrylic pearlescent paints on regular parchment paper. The Pinta Perla acrylic paints give a soft pastel mother-of-pearl sheen. A sheet of hydrangea purple parchment paper was inserted inside the card. Using Embroidery thread, I stitched the inner and outer cards together on the fold line.
The design was traced with Tinta White and Tinta Leaf Green inks onto the parchment paper and then painted with the Circling technique. I found this technique easier to grasp than the Tip-Tip-Tip technique. Step-by-step instructions and pictures are provided in the book for the techniques. After painting was completed the card was embossed and perforated. One of my favorite techniques (Stippling) was done to create the white oval. The design measures measures 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and would be a sweet gift or thank you card. A sentiment can stamped or embossed within the oval.
