Pergamano Certification
Hi dear friends, it’s been such a long time since I’ve visited blog land. I hope all is well with you. I’ve been busy this past year, I’ve accomplished several things that I’ve wanted to do for quite some time. I also went back to work full time this past January (this was NOT something I wanted to accomplish . . . but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do . . . LOL). Seriously, one of the girls in my husband’s office took an early retirement and my husband asked me to take her place so after 24 years of raising the kiddos and now an empty nest, I’ve re-entered the work force.
One thing I’ve wanted to do for a long time is to become a Pergamano tutor. A year ago I submitted an application to take Pergamano’s teacher certification course. I submitted several parchment designs demonstrating my parchment skills to the Canada area coordinator for Pergamano. After viewing my work, she gave me seven small designs to work, followed by three larger designs from Pergamano. For these exams I had to demonstrate my knowledge of different parchment techniques (including several painting techniques used in parchment craft). I successfully passed the course and was awarded the tutor’s certificate from Pergamano. I wish I could share the ten pieces I completed, but I’m not allowed to share the exams.
I’m so proud to be a Registered Pergamano Teacher (IPCA Certified Tutor). Below are pictures of a design that demonstrates several parchment techniques including tracing, cutting, embossing, painting, and perforating.
This design was created by a Master Pergamano Tutor, Gerti Hoffman, found in her book The Art of Painting.
I added a butterfly of my own design to the edge of the design.
A close up of the fine lines painting technique painted over the round and round technique.
I changed the pattern up a bit, the leaves were all cut in the original design. I chose to paint every other leaf (as I painted in the central design) and cut every other leaf.
Thank you all so much for writing to me this past year, your concern is greatly appreciated. I’ll be back soon to share additional accomplishments I’ve made these past several months that I’m very proud of.
For those of you who like to bake and love peanut butter, brownies and cheesecake, I’d like to share this 4 Layer Peanut Butter Cheesecake Brownies recipe that I found on the blog Crazy for Crust. Enjoy!!!
Thank you so much for your visit, until next time . . .

Jerri, I am so pleased and delighted for you! That is such a tremendous accomplishment. And the design you posted is amazing, as is all of your work!
I answered the call from my husband when he needed me FT in his medical office. I did it for 10 years. I can empathize… and yep, you have to do what you have to do. I was very happy when he decided to close the office and take the job in Napa. I finally have my life back! Please be sure to take time for you and your art!
With love, Cathy

I have been playing with the things I got from you but need more advise and practice. Maybe you would consider coming to Pensacola and teaching a class one weekend. If this is possible, let’s talk.

Wow, Jeri! What a happy message you had to share and great news on your certification! Awesome job! I hope working with your husband will be a blessing for you both.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you do next!
Knowing that you live in the Tampa area makes me wish I still lived down there!!! I was in Tampa for 20 years, and was really just getting into paper art after my hubby passed away in 2005, but then I left in 2008. I know you must be proud of your recent accomplishment in pergamano certification! That’s wonderful! I’m very new to your blog, but something tells me that we have some wonderful, and beautiful designs coming from you in our future.
Oh, Jerri! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing the exciting news! I couldn’t be more thrilled that your artistry is getting the recognition it deserves. Of course, I love everything you create, so I was delighted to see a new post from you on your blog. But to hear about your certification, well, I am as happy as can be for you! The piece you’ve shared here is exquisite.
Congratulations on your certificate, Jerri! It is well deserved as your work is gorgeous. This design is so striking & beautiful. I do love your little additions. Especially the darling butterfly. So delicate but absolutely precious.
Also happy to hear you are doing well, just plain old busy! Welcome back!
Oh Happy Saturday to see an email blog post notification from you. . . You so have been in my thoughts for so long. . . I am so not surprised that you became a Pergamano Certified Teacher, Congratulations! Oh how I wish to take a class by you! Your projects are ALL so equsite and I just feel wrapped in beauty when I see them. I look forward to your posts and the beautiful creations you’ll be sharing.
May you continued to be Blessed.
How wonderful to see a post from you. Congratulations on the Pergamano Certification – I can’t imagine you ever failing those exams because your work is exquisite. This project is certainly no exception. BTW, I suspect the place you had to send your examples to is a place called Ecstasy Crafts in Shannonville and if so, it is only a an hour and a half east of where I live and I love driving over there every so often to check out the shop.
I am not sure if you want to be congratulated for stepping into the breach and going back to work but like you said, it was something that needed doing. I hope he pays you well. My husband is retiring at the end of the year and re-activating his personal company so I will probably be doing the same since I have always looked after the books. I am just hoping that he only works at it part-time so I have time for my artwork or I will be teaching him how to do his own books 🙂
Looking forward to your next creation.
Hugs!
Cec
Hi Cec, thank you so much for the sweet comment. No, it wasn’t Ecstasy Crafts. They sell Pergamano supplies, but they are not affiliated with Pergamano’s Academy. Pergamano has area coordinators all over the world. Jo-Anne is the coordinator for the United States and she lives in Canada. I hope all is well with you and your family. Hugs back to you sweetie!!!
Oh, Jerri, congratulations on a well-deserved accomplishment and honor! You are amazing, and I was so excited to see your email this morning! I knew someday you would do this, and I only wish we could see your amazing exams. Your work is exquisite! Oh my, what a stunning piece you’ve shared with us today. The detail is absolutely delightful, and I love the close-ups you’ve shared and how beautifully painted the leaves and flowers are! Wow! I trust that this is your reward for working when you have down time. I know how much you enjoy it, and it shows! So good to see your post, and I look forward to seeing more of your work from time to time…as time permits. Sending hugs and thinking and praying for you, dear friend!
It is soo nice to hear from you again. I hope you are enjoying joining the work force again. I pretty much was out of commission for the first several months of the year. I am not sure if it would have been better if I would have gone back to work. Actually, it probably would have been better.
I am happy to see that you still have a little bit of time to post because it is always soo nice to hear from you.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to you, my friend!!!!! I’ve certainly missed you, dearly, since you stepped out of ‘view’, and I surely did not know you had returned to full time work. 🙁 🙁 I was going to ask if you were going to be teaching, but got that answer already…..lol
Seriously, you have truly earned your certificate and well proud of it you should be. I’ve always wanted to get mine but I’m not a painter, so I keep plugging away at what I do know how to do well.
As others have mentioned, I too hope hubby allows you time to create amongst all your other ‘beautiful lady’ duties!!!!!
Big hugs,
Vickie (papercrazy)
A big congrats to you on earning your certificate. Thats a great honor but I never would have doubted that you would pass, your work is always so beautiful and superb. You have been on my mind for a while, wondering what you have been up to. So, I am happy to see that you went to work, because I was worried you had became ill. I hope to see some of your posts again in the future, as I always love what you bring to us. And I hope that your job doesn’t steal all of your time. Lots of us miss you, (me included).
HUGS

Your work is always stunning and impeccable. I have missed seeing your sweet work in blog land.
I’ve been away from blog land a lot as well. Seems like time is never enough. We moved again. Yes…only 18 mo. ago we did that. We are so enjoying the pleasure of living in a another new home again. Decorating is my passion. Second to card making. We did not move far and still in the same area. So if you get down my way. Look me up. Always glad to see friends as well as blog land friends.
