Lacy Bridal Intimates

My goal in creating the Lacy Bridal Intimates was to produce lingerie that I felt would be loved by a bride. Something that evoked innocence and romance at the same time, a little modern and vintage as well. Something to make a bride feel beautiful and sexy inside and out.

Lingerie 1-51

These creations were truly a labor of love, designed to be sophisticated and feminine. Bridal lingerie is the icing on the cake for the bride to be and what better way to present your bridal gift than with a beautiful bridal lingerie card.

If you missed the bridal brassiere, you can see it here.

Lingerie 1 - 95

A company in the UK, Clarity Stamps, has created a line of acrylic plates that have grooves etched within the plates. The plate above is the plate I used to create the lingerie design I’m presenting today. As you can see from the plate, there is an incredible amount of combinations to create multiple, totally different, designs using ruffles, lace, flowers, bows, etc. This plate was designed by  Master Pergamano Instructor Linda Williams for Clarity Stamps. I have watermarked the plate with the words Clarity Stamps, that is not on the plate itself.

To use the plate you place it on a light box and place a sheet of parchment paper over it, using a very small ball embossing tool, emboss within the lines on the plate to create the design of your choice. Before you start embossing, gently rub the parchment paper with a Bounce dryer sheet, this will ensure very smooth embossing. You do not need to know how to do parchment craft to use these plates. There are videos on You Tube by Clarity Stamps that demonstrate how to use the Groovi plates. Here is a link to getting started with the plates with Barbara Gray:  Clarity Stamps

To create the design I came up with I photocopied a page from Graphic 45’s Gilded Lady Collection paper (8″x8″) onto a regular sheet of parchment paper using a HP 6968 photocopier. I’m sure most any ink jet color copier will work.

I used a star embossing tool to emboss the stars along the center seam of the underwear for a lacy effect.

Lingerie - Lace Plate

To create the lace at the top of the underwear, I embossed the areas using this lace plate (again, the white lines are grooves that have been laser etched into the clear acrylic plate).

Lingerie 1-57

In this close up photo you can see that I pierced the areas within the embossed lines of the lace with a 2-split needle tool. This was a little creativity on my part, the underwear plate does not have lace on it, I used the lace plate to emboss the lace (the plates are interchangeable . . . so cool!). There are various other designs on the underwear plate you can work with to create your own unique piece of lingerie. I used needle tools to perforate and cut the edges with parchment scissors. You can easily use paper snips to fussy cut all the edges without the need to perforate and cut with parchment scissors. The same applies to the bow, fussy cut around the embossed lines.

As I did with the bra, I created a lining for the underwear using white parchment paper, which I explain below. I sandwiched the ruffles on the legs between the underwear and the white lining.

Lingerie 1-59

After embossing the outline of the underwear on a white sheet of parchment paper on the underwear plate, I fussy cut outside the embossed lines using paper snips creating the white lining for the underwear.

Lingerie 1-58

The lace area, as well as the underwear, are all the same piece of parchment paper. The ruffle is made from regular parchment paper that I embossed. I perforated the ruffle with the 2-split needle tool and cut the edges of the lace ruffle with parchment scissors and attached it on top of the underwear with Perga glue. This can be fussy cut without the need for doing the perforating and cutting with parchment scissors for non-patchers. You can do the same with the bow. I used regular parchment paper for the bow and ruffles. After embossing the outlines of the ruffles on the plate, I embossed within the embossed outlines with a hockey stick and larger embossing ball tools.

Lingerie 1-55

In this close up photo you can see the white lining beneath the lace. If you look closely at the lace, it’s not white, it’s the color of the colored parchment (all the same piece of parchment paper that I copied from Graphic 45’s Gilded Lady Collection). However, because I embossed the lace lines on the plate, the embossed lines themselves are white, the parchment paper changes to white when it’s embossed on. Remember, you can emboss on the colored parchment paper, the embossed areas turn white. It’s important to point out when embossing on colored parchment paper, you emboss on the side that has been colored, the opposite side will turn white and since the parchment paper is semi-transparent you get a softer shade of the color on the back side of the paper. As you can see in these pictures, the colors of the underwear are very soft and muted (the front side of the underwear is actually the back side of the parchment paper I photocopied from the Graphic 45 paper).

Lingerie 1-60

The measurements of the underwear are 6 3/4″ x 4″. As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, there are countless ways you can customize the underwear.

I’ll be back soon with a post showing you the card that I created with the underwear. I hope you’ll come back to take a peek, it truly is a beautiful card that a blushing bride would cherish.

If you’re interested in the plates, please e-mail me. While, I don’t have them listed in my store, I do have a few in stock.

Wishing you a wonderful day,

Jerri Siggy3
